Memorable characters and conflicts you'll love

C J Archer is my new, go-to author. I have read three of her trilogies and am anxiously awaiting the next in the Freak House series, because there is so much more to tell and she does it so well. I can't get enough of her stories. Started with the Emily Chambers/Spirit Medium series, then moved on to Freak House 1 & 2. I love novels written in the first person, and her ability to weave a wonderful story with creative dialogue, memorable characters and satisfying conclusions is second to none, as far as I'm concerned. I highly recommend her work to anyone who loves the historical /slightly-Gothic/ mystery novel. Don't waste another day; CJ Archer should be in your library ASAP.

This book is HOT. Action, Mystery, Adventure and Romance burn up the pages as Jack and Hannah close in on answers. LOVED IT!

This is the last book in the first Freak House trilogy, and I am sad to see the focus shift from Jack and Hannah, but I can't wait to read the second installment to the Freak House series which will feature Samuel and his story.
Heart Burn was rich in historical detail and delightful story telling. Mysteries about Hannah and Jack's parentage, Tate and Langley's past, and demon summoning made for an engaging read, while complementing the deliciously torturous desire and sexual tension between Jack and Hannah. C.J. Archer does paranormal and historical romance like no other.The 1st Freak House Trilogy is one of my favorite trilogies of 2013.

Great trilogy!

The books and the story got better and better with each one. This was a multi layered story that had lots of twists and turns that one would not see coming. As the story unfolded the characters became richer in history and more real. The story moves at a great pace and did not bog down or become tedious in the telling. Look forward to reading more of her books.
